Are you going to try to finish within a year? You could just about do it if you wanted to – exactly one month and four presidents to go. (Amazing all the ground you’ve covered.) Or just let it take as long as it takes? I’ve had a guess for some time (maybe 3 or 4 months) who your last one might be, if you’ve perhaps been saving your favorite for last. So far I have not had to revise my guess…

It seems like the country really needed to be brought together in 1868…to that end, electing the general that won the Civil War must have been a tough pill to swallow for the South. That said, my impression is that Grant had the stature to make a difference at a difficult time and didn’t end up doing so.
