That woman&#039;s husband blackmailed Hamilton to keep it quiet, but somehow he implicated Hamilton in another scandal, Monroe and some other Jefferson allies confronted Hamilton about it, who admitted to the affair but nothing else.  Monroe let it get out into the open and destroyed Hamilton&#039;s political prospects.  I believe that the woman&#039;s last name was Reynolds.]]></description>
